The CapTexTri will once again host the                         Para- Triathlete Military Championship (PCMC), and will be adding a special division in both the Olympic and Sprint distance events open to able bodied active military competitors.  For entry into the PCMC please contact kdavis@dsusa.org.  For entry into the Military wave, contact rick@captextri.com.

Capital of Texas Triathlon announces Design contest for 20 year Anniversary


For the 20thAnniversary of the Capital of Texas Triathlon (1991 – 2010), we are holding a t-shirt design contest.  We want to see some creative designs that will highlight this special anniversary year.  We hope to pick 5 winning designs.  The favorite design of these 5 as selected by the race committee will win $500.  Other designs that are chosen and are used as one of the souvenir shirts at this year’s race will receive $250.  If you have any questions or have a design you would like to submit, contact us at design@captextri.com

Capital of Texas Triathlon presents check to the Wounded Warrior Sports Disabled Sports Project

 

During the CapTexTri Volunteer Appreciation Picnic, Iraqi War veteran Juan Arredondo, representing the Wounded Warrior Project and Disabled Sports USA, accepts a check for $10,000.00 from the directors of the Capital of Texas Triathlon, Rick Margiotta and Brad Davison.  The Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project is the primary beneficiary of the Capital of Texas Triathlon.

Volunteer Appreciation Party August 29th, 2009

If you were a volunteer come join us on August 29th, 2009  for the Volunteer Appreciation Party. The Appreciation Party will follow the Captex Tri Open Water Swim.

Athletes are welcome to attend to say thank you for all of the hard work by our volunteers.

This year at the Capital of Texas Triathlon, The race managment wanted to do something special for our athletes.  We have teamed up with Action Sports International to provide custom awards.

Home Stays Needed for Elite Athletes

We are expecting a fairly large number of Professional athletes looking for extended home stays due to the Pan American Championship race held in Oklahoma City the week before the CapTexTri.  Some athletes are looking to come to Austin as early as the 18th of May.  Anyone who would be willing to open their home to these athletes, please contact Rick@captextri.com.

Capital of Texas Triathlon is the host of the 2009 Physically Challenged Military Championship

In 2009, The Capital of Texas Triathlon is hosting the physically Challenged Military Championship. We will be working with the Wounded Warrior Project and the US Disabled Athlete Foundation to help those soldiers who were injured in the recent conflicts. For some of the soldiers this will be their first triathlon ever. Please come support our soldiers and race along side our men and women in uniform.
